‘They more successful than me’ – Jealous Brother Murders Nephews in Abeokuta

A resident of Abeokuta, a man named Taiwo Agbaje, has been arrested for the murder of his brother’s two children, Testimony and Promise.
During interrogation, Agbaje confessed that the act was driven by jealousy.
He stated that his brother was much more successful than him, which fueled his desire to kill the children.
According to Agbaje’s confession, the incident occurred during the holiday.
He had gone to visit the children, lured them into the bush, and attacked them. He began by cutting off their genitals, believing it would hasten their deaths.
Testimony, who was seven years old, and Promise, who was nine, started crying and shouting. Agbaje then struck them three times, after which their cries stopped.
He claimed he only intended to kill the children and had no plans to use them for money rituals.
Agbaje blamed his actions on the devil, stating that when he searched the bush with the officers, he couldn’t locate the children’s genitals, suggesting they might have been consumed by animals in the area.
In his confession, Agbaje admitted to burying the children’s bodies near Mile 6 in Abeokuta.
The parents, who had not wronged Agbaje in any way, are devastated, as these were their only children.
Agbaje is currently in police custody.
