Dominic Thiem on Saturday defeated World No. 1, Novak Djokovic to set up a French Open final against Rafael Nadal who had defeated Roger Federer a day earlier.
Thiem, who ended Djokovic’s dream to become the second male player in history to hold all Grand Slam titles at the same time twice, did it the hard way after a wind-enforced break ensured the semi-final match couldn’t be concluded on Friday.
The Austrian defeated Djokovic 6-2, 3-6, 7-5, 5-7, 7-5 to set up a repeat of last year’s final against Nadal widely known as the King of Clay.
