The Adamawa State Controller of the Federal Ministry of Works, Dimas Tuwai, has dismissed claims that the administration of President Bola Tinubu is sidelining the state in the allocation of federal road projects.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that speaking in an exclusive interview in Yola, Tuwai said the Federal Government has awarded several new road contracts across Adamawa State and revived previously abandoned projects, with many of them already at advanced stages of execution.

According to him, President Tinubu approved three major road projects covering the state’s three senatorial districts.

He identified the projects as the rehabilitation of the Jimeta–Mayo Belwa Road valued at ₦83 billion, the Phase Two rehabilitation of the Yola–Hong–Mubi Road and the Phase Two reconstruction of the Fufore–Gurin Road.

Tuwai explained that the second phase of the Fufore–Gurin Road project covers 20 kilometres and was awarded at **₦15.246 billion** following the successful completion of the first 17 kilometre phase.

He also disclosed that the Federal Government recently awarded four additional road projects aimed at improving transportation and stimulating economic growth in the state.

The projects include the 85 kilometre Jamblamba–Malabu Road, which he said is about 40 per cent complete, the ongoing 44 kilometre Jada–Mbula–Ganye Road, the 40 kilometre Mayolini–Mayo Belwa Road, which is expected to commence soon, and the 90 kilometre Toungo–Karanti Road linking Adamawa and Taraba states.

Tuwai attributed the abandonment of some federal road projects in the past to inadequate funding by previous administrations, assuring residents that the current government is committed to completing existing projects and constructing new ones across the state.

He further disclosed that the rehabilitation of the Cham–Numan Road and the bridge near the Numan Savannah Sugar Refinery has been completed.

The works controller added that the first 17 kilometre phase of the Yola–Fufore Road rehabilitation has also been completed, while the second phase has already been awarded.

However, he noted that work on the Numan–Jalingo Road remains under review due to the rising cost of construction materials.

Tuwai appealed to residents of Adamawa State to support the Tinubu administration, saying the Federal Government remains committed to expanding road infrastructure and improving connectivity to drive economic development across the state.
