EKO HOT BLOG reports that Tinubu is expected to spend a few days in Dubai before departing for Yokohama, Japan, where he will participate in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) scheduled for August 20 to 22.
The conference, with the theme “Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa,” will focus on Africa’s economic growth, private sector investment, improved business climate, and sustainable development. It will also address peace, stability, and human security on the continent.
During the summit, President Tinubu will attend plenary sessions, meet with Japanese government officials, and engage with top executives of companies investing in Nigeria.
TICAD was first launched in 1993 by Japan in collaboration with the United Nations, UNDP, African Union Commission, and the World Bank. The conference is held every three years, alternating between Japan and Africa. The last edition took place in Tunisia in August 2022.
Following his engagement in Japan, Tinubu will proceed to Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, from August 24 to 25, at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

While in Brazil, Tinubu will hold bilateral talks with his host, attend a Nigeria-Brazil business forum, and witness the signing of cooperation agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening economic and diplomatic ties between the two countries.
