President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Yokohama, Japan, on Thursday night for Brazil, where he is scheduled to begin a state visit on Sunday, August 24.
A statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that the President’s journey will include a stopover in Los Angeles before continuing to Brasilia, the Brazilian capital.

EKO HOT BLOG reports tha Tinubu commenced his two-nation tour on Friday, August 15, when he departed Abuja. His first stop was in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before arriving in Yokohama on August 18.
While in Japan, the President participated in the opening ceremony and plenary of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) held on August 20. He also engaged in bilateral meetings with global leaders and capped his visit with an interactive session with Nigerians in the diaspora on Thursday night.

The Brazilian leg of his visit will focus on strengthening economic, trade, and diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Brazil, as well as exploring new areas of cooperation.
