President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday received Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, at his official residence in the State House, Abuja.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Mahama, who arrived at about 2:30 p.m., is making his first official visit to Nigeria since assuming office on January 7, 2025.

The meeting between the two leaders is aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations between the neighboring West African nations.

Discussions between Tinubu and Mahama are expected to center on key regional matters within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). The agenda includes enhancing cooperation in trade, security, and economic development, as both leaders seek to address shared challenges affecting the sub-region.

Sources indicate that the talks will also explore areas of mutual interest, focusing on strategies to bolster stability and economic growth across the continent.

This visit follows an earlier courtesy call by Mahama in December 2024, shortly after his election victory. During that meeting, Tinubu had expressed confidence that Mahama’s return to leadership would contribute to greater political and economic stability in the region.
