Troops carrying out clearance operations in Zamfara State have eliminated a notorious bandit leader, Yellow Aboki, a close associate of the late terror kingpin Hassan Bamamu.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that Yellow Aboki was neutralized during a recent encounter with troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA in Tsafe Local Government Area, North West Nigeria.
His death follows the military’s successful operation that eliminated Hassan Dantawaye, also known as Bamamu, a feared bandit commander and one of Aboki’s closest allies.
Following Bamamu’s demise, Yellow Aboki had been consolidating control over criminal activities in Zamfara, orchestrating violent attacks and kidnappings across Bamamu, Dan Mali, Agamalafiya, and Makera.
The military has intensified its crackdown on bandit kingpins in key hideouts across Zamfara, Sokoto, and other troubled areas in the North West.
This sustained offensive has significantly weakened the bandits’ operational capacity, forcing them to abandon direct confrontations with security forces and resort to isolated attacks on vulnerable communities.
