Tinubu Congratulates Mahama On Ghana Election Victory
sPresident Bola Tinubu has congratulated John Dramani Mahama, the President-elect of Ghana, on his victory in the country’s December 7 general election.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu conveyed his goodwill during a telephone call with Mahama.

The Nigerian leader commended Ghanaians for their dedication to democracy, highlighting the peaceful and successful conduct of the elections as a testament to the nation’s democratic maturity.
President Tinubu expressed optimism that Mahama’s return to power would promote stability within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), where Tinubu serves as Chairman.
He lauded the democratic ethos demonstrated by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate and Ghana’s Vice President, for conceding defeat before the official announcement by the Electoral Commission.
“President Tinubu noted that Mahama’s return to Jubilee House reflects the trust of the Ghanaian people in his leadership and vision for national progress,” the statement read.
The Nigerian leader praised the former Ghanaian President for his extensive public service, which includes roles as Vice President from 2009 to 2012, President from 2012 to 2017, Member of Parliament, and various ministerial positions.
Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to fostering deeper relations with Ghana, underscoring the shared history, cultural bonds, and mutual goals of the two nations.
He also extended gratitude to outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo for his exemplary leadership and contributions to Ghana’s growth and regional stability.
President Tinubu emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the two nations and pledged to collaborate with Mahama’s administration to advance bilateral relations and enhance economic integration within West Africa.
