President Bola Tinubu has appointed new boards for the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), both under the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the in a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu named Idris Olorunnimbe as Chairman of the NCC, while Dr. Aminu Wada retains his position as Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Wada was first appointed to the role in October 2023 and confirmed by the Senate in November that year.
Olorunnimbe previously served on the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Board, where he chaired the Stakeholder and Governance Committee and led impactful youth employment and entrepreneurship programmes.
Other NCC board members include Abraham Oshidami, Executive Commissioner for Technical Services; Rimini Makama, Executive Commissioner for Stakeholder Management; Hajia Maryam Bayi, former Director of Human Capital and Administration; Col. Abdulwahab Lawal (Rtd); Senator Lekan Mustafa; Chris Okorie; Princess Oforitsenere Emiko; and the Board Secretary.

For the USPF, the President approved a board chaired by Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, with Olorunnimbe as Vice Chairman.
Other members are Abraham Oshidami; Rimini Makama; Aliyu Edogi Aliyu (representing the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy); Joseph B. Faluyi (representing the Federal Ministry of Finance); Auwal Mohammed (representing the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning); Uzoma Dozie; Peter Bankole; Abayomi Anthony Okanlawon; Gafar Oluwasegun Quadri; and the USPF Secretary.
The USPF was created by the Federal Government to advance national policy goals for universal access to information and communication technologies (ICT) in rural, unserved, and underserved communities across Nigeria.
