Tinubu described the ceremony as a reaffirmation of the discipline, patriotism, and commitment to service that define the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, the President congratulated the graduating officers, noting that their success reflected years of sacrifice, resilience, and devotion to national duty.
Members of the presidential entourage included former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, Senator Jack Gyado, Professor Iorwuese Hagher, Gen. Benedict Williams (rtd), and AVM James Gbum (rtd), among others.
Tinubu said Nigeria’s contemporary security challenges extend beyond conventional warfare, stressing that modern military leadership requires strategic thinking, inter-agency collaboration, and unwavering commitment to democratic principles and the rule of law.

“Graduating at this critical juncture in our national and global history places upon you a solemn duty,” the President said. “Your completion of these courses coincides with a period of profound transformation in the global and regional security environment.”
He noted that both traditional and non-traditional threats ranging from terrorism and insurgency to cyber warfare, maritime insecurity, and climate-induced conflicts continue to expand in scope and complexity.
The President assured the officers that his administration remains committed to strengthening Nigeria’s security framework, improving the welfare of military personnel, and enhancing synergy among security, intelligence, and civil institutions to ensure peace and stability.
He also commended the AFCSC for its sustained excellence in producing officers who have demonstrated leadership both locally and in international peacekeeping missions under ECOWAS, the African Union, and the United Nations.
According to Tinubu, the college’s blend of academic rigour, operational training, and multinational cooperation continues to bolster Nigeria’s defence capacity.
Charging the graduates to view their achievement as the beginning of a greater responsibility, the President urged them to apply the leadership and analytical skills acquired at Jaji to both national and global service.
“Be bold in leadership, innovative in strategy, and humble in service,” he said. “Uphold integrity and discipline at all times, mentor those coming behind you, and never lose sight of the sacred trust the nation has placed in you.”
