Togo has scrapped visa requirements for citizens of all African countries visiting the country for short stays of up to 30 days.
Eko Hot Blog gathered the policy was announced on Tuesday by Togo’s Ministry of Security in a statement released on its official X account.

According to the ministry, the decision is aimed at promoting regional integration, easing movement across the continent and strengthening cooperation among African nations.

Under the new arrangement, African travellers holding valid national passports can now enter Togo without obtaining a visa, provided their stay does not exceed 30 days.
The ministry described the move as a major step toward enhancing continental unity and positioning Togo as a hub for mobility, opportunities and collaboration within Africa.
Despite the visa waiver, visitors will still be required to complete a travel declaration through the government’s official online platform at least 24 hours before arrival to obtain a travel slip.

Authorities said the initiative reflects Togo’s commitment to advancing African integration and fostering closer ties among countries on the continent.
The development follows similar measures adopted by Rwanda, which previously introduced visa-free access for African travellers.
In response, Nigeria has also begun implementing a 30-day visa-free entry policy for Rwandan citizens.
