Eko Hot Blog reports that Two individuals aboard a World War II historical plane were killed on Saturday when the aircraft crashed in California, authorities reported.
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) stated on social media platform X that it is investigating the crash of a Lockheed L12 aircraft near Chino, a city in San Bernardino County, approximately 55 km east of Downtown Los Angeles.
The aircraft reportedly crashed shortly after takeoff from Chino Airport in Southern California.
According to local KABC television station, the small World War II-era twin-engine plane went down around 12:35 p.m. (1935 GMT) near Chino Airport. Emergency crews found the plane off the runway upon arrival.

Bryan Turner, the battalion chief with Chino Valley Fire District, told ABC News that the private Lockheed L12 aircraft was located approximately 200 yards off the runway in a grass field when firefighters arrived around 12:35 p.m.
The identities of the deceased passengers, who were reportedly involved in a Father’s Day event at the Yanks Air Museum, were not immediately revealed.
Turner mentioned that it is too early to determine the cause of the crash, but fire was involved.
Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the NTSB will be investigating the incident, the agencies confirmed.
