The event, themed “One Voice, One Vision: Uniting Perspectives for a Stronger Nigeria,” was organized by the Voice of Nigeria.
Idris, in a statement released by his media aide, Rabiu Ibrahim, noted that the dialogue’s timing was essential as Nigeria stands “at the confluence of purpose and possibility.”
The minister explained that the forum aimed to connect national policies with citizens’ everyday experiences, describing it as more than just a policy discussion.
He referenced numerous initiatives as markers of progress, including the removal of fuel subsidies and reforms in the foreign exchange system, investments in road infrastructure, the introduction of a student loan scheme, and the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund and CreditCorp.
“Just last week, we commemorated the second anniversary of the Tinubu administration with ample proof of its monumental positive impact,” the minister said, adding that no previous democratic government had delivered such sweeping reforms in the same time frame.
Idris drew attention to several sectors in which President Tinubu’s administration has made strides.
He cited improvements in food prices, the government’s efforts to combat insecurity, local government autonomy, and the creation of ministries for regional development and livestock as evidence that policy implementation was starting to bear fruit.

He added, “With President Bola Tinubu, the voices are audibly uniting in further support of a man of vision and courage.”
The minister emphasised the importance of unity in securing the nation, stating, “There can be no national security without national unity. And there can be no unity without trust.”
He emphasized VON’s commitment to reaching citizens in multiple languages and connecting with the Nigerian diaspora.
Underlining the dialogue’s importance, Idris called for collaboration between various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society, media, and security agencies.
“This forum reflects that vision. It brings together government, media, civil society, and the security community, not in silos, but in synergy,” he said.
He concluded by urging participants to commit to values of truth, equity, transparency, and compassion in all spheres of public life.
