The minister, alongside Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu represented by Prof. Akin Abayomi, the Commissioner for Health was also honoured as an Honorary Fellow and Patron of the Academy, respectively.
Dr. Alausa emphasized the importance of maintaining a smooth and uninterrupted academic calendar for national development.
“In the history of ASUU, the union has been on strike for about 54 months. That’s not an enviable record any nation wants to have,” he said.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as part of his Renewed Hope Agenda, is determined to eliminate strikes completely and ensure students remain in school without disruption.”
He noted that President Tinubu has prioritized educational stability through various interventions, including the Student Loan Scheme, the repositioning of TETFund, and the proposed Education Research Fund, which aim to strengthen higher education and human capital development.

Alausa described education as a “strategic path to national growth,” stressing that the President has consistently supported efforts to maintain peace in tertiary institutions.
“All these efforts are to guarantee the quality of graduates we produce and make our institutions globally competitive and solution-driven,” he added.
The minister also praised the Academy’s founding fathers for their contributions to medical science and pledged to deepen collaboration between the Ministry of Education and professional bodies in advancing research and innovation.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by Prof. Abayomi, commended the Academy for promoting professional excellence, mentorship, and compassion in healthcare delivery.
“Medicine is not just a profession, it’s a calling to serve humanity with integrity. Lagos remains committed to building a people-focused health system,” Abayomi said.
Earlier, AMSN President, Emeritus Professor Osato Giwa-Osagie, highlighted the Academy’s role in promoting excellence in medical education and research to enhance health outcomes nationwide.
