A U.S. federal judge, Eleanor Ross, has been privately reprimanded after an investigation found that she engaged in an inappropriate s3xual relationship with an Atlanta police officer inside her chambers during work hours.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Bloomberg Law reported that Ross, a judge at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, was sanctioned following findings by a special judicial conduct committee of the Eleventh Circuit which investigated allegations of misconduct over a period of about two years.
The committee, according to the report, found that the judge engaged in s3xual intercourse in chambers and during business hours, in circumstances that reportedly placed court staff, including law clerks, within earshot of the incidents.
Bloomberg Law further identified Ross as the judge involved and stated that she received a private reprimand for her conduct after the committee concluded its investigation into complaints raised by a law clerk.

The report added that the committee noted she “has demonstrated a strong propensity for rehabilitation and continued diligent service to the judiciary,” and as part of the disciplinary outcome, she agreed to write apology letters to former clerks interviewed during the investigation.
She was also barred from serving as chief judge or holding other judicial leadership positions going forward.
The police officer involved was identified as Atlanta Police Department Deputy Chief Kelley Collier. Both parties reportedly declined to comment on the matter.
Ross, 58, was nominated to the federal bench by former U.S. President Barack Obama and confirmed by the Senate in 2014.
