Actress Lizzy Anjorin has publicly addressed the incident involving gospel singer Tope Alabi, who allegedly refused to perform at her surprise birthday party despite a payment of N4 million.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Lizzy Anjorin expressed disappointment and shared a receipt of the alleged payment, accusing Tope Alabi of unprofessional behavior.
In her reaction to the viral report, Anjorin claimed that fans had paid for Alabi’s performance, but the singer backed out upon learning that Anjorin was the celebrant.
The actress also mentioned her past loyalty to Alabi during controversies, including her fallout with the late Prophet Ajanaku.
Reflecting on her history of support, Anjorin highlighted instances when she stood by the singer and even played her songs as a display of solidarity.
“Aunty Tope, my fans paid you ₦4 million and I have the evidence with me. Even if you were paid ₦500k, were you not an actress before? In acting, we were taught that if you are to kiss your enemy on a movie set, you must do it.
“When the world rejected you, I stood by you. I even play your songs not because I need them, but to support you. No matter how terrible you think I am, I’m not as bad as Prophet Ajanaku.
“You saw the goodness of God in my life when you were outside my place. You called me your sister. No matter how much they paid you, you should not have reacted that way. If you judge me, you are not God,” she said in part.
Reports indicated that Tope Alabi refused to leave her car and instructed the driver to turn around upon discovering that actress Lizzy Anjorin was the birthday celebrant.
The incident reportedly occurred after Tope Alabi arrived at Anjorin’s clothing store, where the surprise party was taking place.
