EKO HOT BLOG reports that president Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United States had conducted multiple airstrikes targeting Islamic State militants operating in north west Nigeria. The strikes were reportedly carried out in coordination with Nigerian authorities as part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
Reacting to the development, Moore said the operation marked a significant step by the Trump administration to address insecurity in Nigeria, particularly attacks on Christian communities.
In a statement shared on his 𝕏 handle, the lawmaker said the president was determined to bring an end to what he described as the killing of Christians in Nigeria. He added that the security crisis affects Nigerians across religious and ethnic lines.
“President Trump has been clear that the killing of Christians in Nigeria must end,” Moore said.
He warned that the administration’s commitment should not be taken lightly, stressing that stronger measures could be deployed if the violence persists.
“As I stated at the outset: Do not test President Trump‘s resolve in this matter,” he said.
“Tonight’s strike in coordination with the Nigerian government is just the first step to ending the slaughter of Christians and the security crisis affecting all Nigerians,” Moore added.

The congressman said the operation signals a firmer stance by the United States in support of Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and violent extremism, noting that additional actions may follow if the situation fails to improve.
