Tensions flared at Ozolua Model Primary School in Iguobazuwa East Ward, the headquarters of Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State, after a political agent was reportedly assaulted by angry voters.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the individual, said to be affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was allegedly manhandled by a group of voters who accused him of refusing to release their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Eyewitnesses said the situation escalated quickly before security personnel intervened to rescue the agent from further harm. His identity had not been confirmed at the time of this report.
The unrest did not stop the electoral process, however, as voters turned out in large numbers across various wards in Iguobazuwa for the exercise.

Electoral officials were observed arriving with materials as early as 7:00 a.m., allowing voting to commence without delay in many locations.
