WAEC Announces Release Date For 2024 WASSCE Results
WAEC announced that the 2024 WASSCE results will be released online on August 5, after delays due to unspecified challenges.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will be released on August 5.
The announcement, trending on social media, included an apology from WAEC for the delay in releasing the results.

The statement read, “WAEC has officially announced that the WAEC 2024 results will be out on Monday, August 5, 2024. The West African Examinations Council acknowledges that certain challenges led to the delayed release of the results. While apologizing for the delay, WAEC assures all candidates that 99.5% of the SSCE results are ready and will be available online soon.”
While it waswas unable to independently confirm the message as efforts to get a confirmation from the WAEC Lagos Office, Head of Nigeria Office, Dr Amos Dangut, were unsuccessful, Punch quoted a source from the WAEC Office in Kwara State to have confirmed the statement.
The source said WAEC would soon upload an official statement on its website and official social media handles to that effect.
“This is true. A statement should be up on the website and social media handle any moment from now,” he answered when asked if the said information was true.
This online media platform recalls that WAEC had earlier confirmed it had commenced the marking and coordination for the 2024 WASSCE.

“The exercise will be carried out in 86 marking venues and 3 E-marking venues spread across the federation,” WAEC wrote on its X platform on July 10.
