Julen Lopetegui is familiar with Premier League football, having managed Wolves from 2022 to 2023, where he guided them to a 13th place finish in the league table.
Beyond the Premier League, the 57-year-old Spanish tactician has amassed extensive experience, having coached at Real Madrid, Rayo Vallecano, Sevilla, and Porto.
He has also led Spain’s national team, showcasing his versatility and expertise across various top-tier clubs and international competitions.
The management of West Ham United holds the belief that Lopetegui would outperform David Moyes.
Despite Moyes securing the Europa Conference League title last season, marking West Ham’s first European title in 43 years.
Apart from securing the Europa League title, Moyes’ tenure at West Ham has been less remarkable.
Last season, he guided the team to a 14th place finish in the league table, and this season, they currently sit in 9th place.
Recent games have seen David Moyes and his team struggle, managing only one win in their last nine matches.
This poor run has left the club’s management with no alternative but to part ways with Moyes.
The pinnacle of their losses this season came with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, May 5th.
Following such a humiliating defeat against their London rivals.
David Moyes lacks any convincing arguments to persuade the side’s management for more time.
Consequently, Julen Lopetegui is anticipated to take over from him at the end of this season.
According to the BBC, Julen Lopetegui has reached an agreement to become the manager of West Ham at the end of the season.
