Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League took a major blow on Saturday after suffering a disappointing 1-0 defeat to West Ham at the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners went into the match knowing that a win would reduce Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table to just five points. From the start, Mikel Arteta’s men dominated possession and created several opportunities, but they struggled to break down West Ham’s defense.

Despite Arsenal’s early control, it was the visitors who took the lead just before halftime. In the 44th minute, Aaron Wan-Bissaka delivered a well-placed cross into the box, and Jarrod Bowen capitalized on poor marking to head the ball past Arsenal’s goalkeeper.
In the second half, Arsenal continued to push forward in search of an equalizer, but West Ham remained solid at the back. Their task became even harder when Myles Lewis-Skelly received a red card for a last-man foul, leaving Arsenal with ten men.

With this defeat, Liverpool remains eight points ahead of Arsenal at the top of the table. The gap could widen even further if Arne Slot’s side secures a positive result against defending champions Manchester City on Sunday.
