Arole pointed out that ministerial invitations now seem to be granted based on personal connections rather than the authentic leading of the Holy Spirit. He also questioned the sincerity of many gospel artists, challenging whether they are genuinely serving as ministers or merely performing for the audience.
In his post, he stated:
“The level of hypocrisy, worldliness and cabalism in the gospel music ministry in Nigeria is alarming. Oh YES!!! Invitations is by who know who, not as the spirit leads. Music Ministers too we can’t differentiate if you’re a PERFORMER or a MINISTER. It is well!!!”
In a related commentary, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, founder of Love World (also known as Christ Embassy), criticized gospel singers who charge fees for their performances, arguing that such practices mean they are not truly singing for God.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that he lamented that churches have been transformed into party venues rather than places of worship and warned that gospel singers who prioritize monetary gain will soon be retired.

He recalled that he used to celebrate ministers until he felt divinely instructed to stop, adding that churches will eventually cease inviting ministers once they genuinely embody the spirit of a house of God.
