The 2025 World Teachers’ Day celebrations began on a vibrant note in Epe Federal Constituency as teachers came out in their numbers to mark the day with fitness, unity, and fun activities.
Eko Hot Blog reports that despite an early morning rainfall that caused a brief delay, hundreds of teachers gathered at Epe Grammar School to commence a 5km Walk for Fitness.
The walk took them through Ita-Marun, Ita-Opo, Recreation Ground, the Palace of HRM Oba Kamoru Ishola Animashaun, Epe-Ayetoro, Okebalogun, and finally ended at the ABIRU Stadium.
Along the route, teachers showcased their energy and enthusiasm, dancing, networking, and spreading the spirit of the teaching profession.
The highlight of the day was a novelty football match between Primary and Secondary School Teachers, which drew excitement from the crowd.

The game was witnessed by dignitaries including NUT State Officers, immediate past leaders of the union, directors from Epe Education LGEA, and other education stakeholders.
Speaking on the significance of the event, one of the union leaders said, “This celebration is not just about fun; it is about togetherness, fitness, and honouring the noble profession that builds all others.”
Another teacher described the experience as “a refreshing way to begin the Teachers’ Day celebrations, strengthening our bond as colleagues while promoting a healthy lifestyle.”
Organisers expressed gratitude to all teachers, leaders, and supporters who made the day a success, noting that the celebrations will continue with more activities, including an online Teacher’s Professional Capacity Building Seminar scheduled for tomorrow at 8:00 pm.
