Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, will attempt to persuade Afenifere’s leadership to endorse him in the 2023 election by outlining his qualifications.
Eko Hot Blog reports that on Sunday (today), Tinubu will meet with Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the group’s head, and other Afenifere leaders in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.

In a statement on Saturday, Bayo Onanuga, the director of media and publicity for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, revealed that Tinubu will present his recently released 80-page action plan to the Yoruba leaders.
He continued by saying that Tinubu will also be in Lagos on Tuesday to speak with the South West chambers of commerce about his plans and strategies for the economy.
The statement reads: “The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress will on Sunday be in Akure, Ondo State to pay a courtesy visit to Pa Reuben Fasoranti and the leadership of Afenifere, the Yoruba cultural and political organisation.
“During the visit, he will also present his Action Plan on how he intends to tackle the economic and other problems the country is grappling with.
“The APC torch bearer will similarly speak on his plans today before the Yoruba group, led by Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
“He will on Tuesday in Lagos discuss with the chambers of commerce in the South West on how he intends to improve the economy of Nigeria, to achieve a double-digit growth.”
The Yoruba socio-political organisation had said that the presidency is not the personal property of the Yorubas.
Afenifere stated this last week while responding to allegations concerning its support for Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi instead of his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
