Obasanjo described the facility as a world class centre that could position Bauchi as a leading destination for tourism, business, and global investment.
He praised Governor Bala Mohammed for his commitment to development and said the project reflected the state’s vision for progress and relevance.
“With what we have, we can show the world that we belong,” Obasanjo said. “What others have and boast about is not more than what we have. This world class centre can become one of the country’s major tourist attractions.”

The former president noted that the facility would strengthen economic ties, foster collaboration, and encourage investment opportunities.
“We need to mobilise investments from local and international sources,” he stated, adding that he was willing to work with the Bauchi governor to attract investors to the state.
Ruben Okoya, Chief Executive Officer of Architectronix Nigeria Limited, the firm that handled the project, described the centre as a masterpiece.
He said it was built on 10,000 square metres, accommodating 3,000 people, with all materials sourced locally from Bauchi.

Okoya explained that the facility houses five major halls capable of hosting multiple events at once, an outdoor space for 2,500 guests, a mosque, solar power systems, and internet connectivity.
He urged the Federal Government to host major national events in Bauchi, citing its oil producing status and growing infrastructure.
The ceremony drew government officials, business leaders, and traditional rulers who praised the project as a landmark achievement in Bauchi’s march toward economic transformation.
