The Epe Division Professional Women Association (EPWA) has marked its 10th anniversary in grand style with the groundbreaking ceremony of its proposed Vocational Training Centre, an initiative designed to empower women and transform the lives of female children across Epe Division.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the historic event, held on Thursday, attracted community leaders, dignitaries, members, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate a decade of impact, service, and professional excellence among women of Epe origin.

In her address, the President of the association, Mrs. Folake Johnson, described the establishment of the vocational centre as a milestone achievement that embodies the association’s mission of equipping women and girls with practical skills for self-reliance and economic independence.

“This centre represents our collective dream for a better future,” Mrs. Johnson said. “We are building a place where women can learn, grow, and become economically empowered.
It will change not only the face of our community but also the destiny of many young girls who will find purpose and direction through vocational training.”
She further expressed gratitude to members, sponsors, and partners who have supported the association’s vision over the years, urging continued unity and commitment toward community advancement.
The Vice President of the association, Comrade Kenny Kadri Edu, also commended the women for their consistency, dedication, and passion since the inception of the group.
He offered heartfelt prayers for the continued success of EPWA and the well-being of all its members.
“We have stood together through challenges and triumphs,” Com. Edu stated. “As we break ground today, we also break limits.
I pray for many more fruitful years of achievements, progress, and long life for every member and sponsor who believes in this noble cause.”
Guests at the event praised the initiative as a significant contribution to grassroots development, noting that vocational education remains a vital tool in addressing unemployment and promoting self-sufficiency among women.
