The two grew up across the street from each other in Las Vegas and later worked together professionally when the late-night show started in 2003.

Escobedo, whose father also performed in the band, toured with major artists including Paula Abdul and Marc Anthony before joining Kimmel’s show. His contributions to the band made him a familiar face to audiences over nearly two decades.
Although the cause of death has not been revealed, the musician’s absence was noted when a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! was abruptly canceled.
