Speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at the Local Government Secretariat, Hon. Olowa — who also chairs the Conference 57 of Chairmen in Lagos State — described the initiative as a reflection of his administration’s commitment to people-centered governance.
“Over 11,000 residents registered for this Conditional Cash Transfer, which is solely funded by our administration. After thorough screening, 4,000 qualified beneficiaries were shortlisted,” he said.
“Today, 260 beneficiaries are receiving ₦100,000 each, while others will receive theirs in due course. The programme will run for 20 months, and each beneficiary will only benefit once to ensure fairness.”

Olowa further noted that the cash disbursement, conducted through Fidelity Bank Plc, was structured to ensure transparency and accountability.
“This CCT programme is a direct embodiment of the Renewed Hope Agenda’s core pillars — empowering the vulnerable, fostering economic inclusion, and building resilient communities,” he added.
He urged beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously to enhance their livelihoods. “I implore every beneficiary to use these resources wisely. Let us turn this support into lasting progress for our families and community,” he appealed.
The chairman explained that the programme targets women, unemployed youths, persons with disabilities, and residents with medical conditions, while others not captured in the current batch will benefit from a forthcoming Health Insurance Scheme to be launched by his administration.
Commending the initiative, Ọba Orimedu of Ibeju-Lekki, Oba Abidemi Yisa Toheeb, lauded Hon. Olowa for his visionary leadership and dedication to community development.
“Hon. Olowa has once again proven to be a true servant of the people. This initiative is timely and impactful. I urge all beneficiaries to make good use of the fund and let it bring growth to their families,” the monarch said.
Beneficiaries at the event also expressed appreciation for the gesture. Mr. Aliasan Yusuf, one of the recipients, said, “I am grateful for this opportunity.
The ₦100,000 will be added to my business capital and help me expand.”
Mrs. Folashade, a foodstuff seller, also praised the programme, saying, “This money will go a long way for my business. Things have been tough, but this support gives me hope to restock and continue.”
Similarly, Mr. Olufemi Bello, a block maker, lauded the chairman for his commitment to the welfare of the people. “Hon. Olowa is truly a man of the people. This initiative shows he cares deeply about our progress,” he remarked.
Traditional rulers, community leaders, and party stalwarts present at the ceremony also commended the initiative, describing it as another milestone in Olowa’s administration’s record of service to humanity.
The event featured a short documentary highlighting personal testimonies from beneficiaries, reaffirming the council’s dedication to inclusivity and economic empowerment.
