The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Dr Dennis Otuaro, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his strategic approach to development, economic growth, and sustainable peace in the Niger Delta.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Otuaro made the remarks during a town hall meeting with PAP stakeholders and Niger Delta residents in Lagos over the weekend. The event was hosted by Niger Delta activist and Ijaw Monitoring Group founder Joseph Eva.
Notable attendees included Prince Tonye Harry, Chairman of Ijaw National Congress, Lagos chapter; Prof. Dauphin Moro; Titus Posibi; Mrs Amarian Benedicta; Mrs Ogbogbo; Evangelist Agboro; Emmanuel Fiawe; Robert Fiawe; Elder Regent Youmor; Mrs Rosemary Aluko; and Owen Naphatin, Chairman of IYC, Lagos chapter.
Dr Otuaro highlighted that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is delivering tangible results in the region, particularly in development, security, and sustainable peace. He noted that the administration has restored stability while fulfilling campaign promises relating to human capacity development and infrastructure.

He further credited the President and the National Security Adviser for supporting the PAP, which has enabled the expansion of scholarship schemes and achieved milestones in vocational training, peacebuilding, and stakeholder engagement. Otuaro emphasised that investing in human resources is vital to the socio-economic growth and security of the Niger Delta.
In a related development, the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) and the Ford Foundation concluded the Bridges Project with a high-level stakeholders’ dialogue forum. The event brought together government leaders, regulators, Host Community Development Trust (HCDT) representatives, and community leaders to review lessons from four years of implementing the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), particularly its HCDT provisions.
HCDTs are designed to ensure that host communities directly benefit from extractive industry activities. The forum also charted a way forward for sustainable community development in the Niger Delta.
The two-day event, themed “Four Years of the PIA: Lessons, Gains, and the Path Forward for Host Community Development Trusts”, hosted over 150 participants. Speaking at the forum, PIND Executive Director Sam Ogbemi Daibo said the dialogue marked a pivotal step in consolidating lessons from the Bridges Project for future implementation.
