The commemoration of International Men’s Day in Lagos East Senatorial District on Tuesday was marked with a powerful message from Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, who honoured the resilience, compassion, and quiet sacrifices of men across Lagos East and Nigeria at large.

According to the Lagos East Senator, his office has consistently prioritised the welfare and development of men in the district through targeted initiatives such as bursary schemes, agricultural support programmes, MSME funding, and tech-skill opportunities for young men.
He emphasised that “men matter deeply, and when men are supported to stand strong, families flourish and communities thrive.”
He acknowledged the silent pressures and responsibilities men shoulder daily while encouraging them to uphold positive values, build healthy relationships, promote respect and equality, and continue leading by example.
Highlighting the importance of men’s health, Senator Abiru urged men to give attention to their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, noting that “as men, we must prioritise self-care and understand that strength also lies in openness.”
He concluded by saluting men who embody integrity, courage, kindness, and hard work, expressing hope that the day would inspire renewed confidence and purpose across the district.
