The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), on Monday convened a high-level security meeting involving security agencies, traditional leaders, and community representatives.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the session was prompted by growing security concerns across the country and the need for coordinated local action to prevent threats and maintain stability.

During the meeting, Kasali emphasized the importance of collaboration among all security actors, stressing that safeguarding the community requires shared responsibility.
“This is a time for greater alertness and unity,” he said. “We must work together, share information promptly and support security structures to keep Lekki LCDA safe.”
Stakeholders at the meeting exchanged intelligence reports, reviewed existing security gaps, and agreed on strategies to strengthen surveillance, improve rapid response, and enhance community-based security mechanisms.
A traditional leader at the meeting remarked, “Security is everyone’s duty. The Chairman’s call for collective action is timely and necessary.”
Security agencies reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the council and community groups, noting that improved information flow would help prevent incidents before they escalate.
Kasali urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities immediately, assuring them that the council will continue to prioritize safety and stability across all communities.
