The Federal Government has reportedly secured the release of 100 schoolchildren abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that bandits attacked the remote community on November 21, 2025, invading the school around 2 am.

The attackers, who arrived on motorbikes, operated for nearly three hours, abducting 315 persons including 303 students and 12 teachers from the school dormitories.

Following the incident, security operatives and local hunters launched a coordinated search operation across surrounding forests to rescue the victims.
In the hours that followed, 50 pupils escaped within the first day and were reunited with their families. However, 265 individuals comprising 253 children and all 12 teachers remained in captivity until the latest development.
