26.5m Nigerian Children Experiencing High Water Vulnerability– UNICEF

According to the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), 26.5 million Nigerian children do not have enough water to meet their daily needs and are at high or extremely high risk of water scarcity.
Globally, more than 1.42 billion people – including 450 million children – live in areas of high or exceptionally high water vulnerability, according to UNICEF in a statement commemorating World Water Day 2021.

According to a new UNICEF study, one in every five children in the world does not have enough water to satisfy their basic needs.
The study, which is part of the Water Security For All Initiative, identifies areas where physical water scarcity and poor water service levels intersect.
