The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed six persons dead and 11 injured in an auto crash in Anambra State on Sunday.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that a statement by the Anambra State FRSC Public Education Officer, Kamal Musa, said the accident was caused by excessive speeding.
The statement read partly, “Six people killed and 11 injured in a fatal crash involving a mini white bus belonging to CDO Transport Company with number plate, BGT 313 XA and a white truck without a registration number recorded at 17.10hrs (5.10pm) this evening 22nd November 2020 at Nkwelle Junction along Nteje-Onitsha Expressway.

“Eyewitnesses said the crash occurred as a result of excessive speeding leading to loss of control of the bus and crashing eventually.
“A total of 17 people; 11 male adults and six female adults, were involved in the crash.
“Eleven 11 male adults who sustained varying degrees of injury were rushed to Iyi-Enu Hospital Ogidi by the FRSC rescue team from Nteje unit, who also deposited dead victims at the morgue after doctor’s confirmation.
“Road obstruction is being cleared to ensure a free flow of traffic.”
The FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Andrew Kumapayi, however, urged motorists to adhere strictly to speed limits stipulated by law.
