No fewer than 650 members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gobirawa Ward, Dala Local Government Area, as well as parts of Fagge and Ungoggo LGAs of Kano State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the defectors, who joined the APC in clusters under different group leaders, were received by Rabiu Bichi, Managing Director of the Hadejia-Jama’are River Basin Development Authority.

Bichi welcomed the new members, praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership and reaffirming the APC’s dedication to equity, inclusivity, and good governance.
He highlighted key achievements under the Renewed Hope Agenda, including the student loan scheme, agricultural reforms, and youth and women empowerment programmes.
He further disclosed that his agency is partnering with the Bank of Agriculture to provide soft loans to farmers, aimed at achieving food security across the country.
While addressing the new entrants, Bichi assured them of equal rights and opportunities within the APC, stressing that the party values unity and national development.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Ahmad Gobirawa stated that their decision to join the APC was driven by President Tinubu’s visible achievements within less than two years in office.
The event, which drew party stalwarts, community leaders, and youth groups, was seen as a major political boost for the APC in Kano, reflecting its growing grassroots influence across the state.
