Epe Itaopo Central Mosque Prepares To Turban New Chief Imam
Eko Hot Blog reports In a significant development for the Epe Itaopo Central Mosque, plans are underway to turban the newly appointed Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdulkabir Oriyomi Shamradeen.
The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, 10th February 2024, at the Epe Recreational Ground and is anticipated to draw key figures from the town, including traditional chiefs, political leaders, and Islamic dignitaries.
The new Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdulkabir Oriyomi Shamradeen, acknowledged the significance of his appointment, stating, “This esteemed office of the Chief Imam was made possible by Allaah who, in His Infinite mercies, gave me the privilege of assuming the position.”
Hailing from Etitun (Jagun family of Oke-Iposu) and Eyindi quarters in Epe, Sheikh Shamradeen expressed gratitude to Allaah and appreciated the support of prominent figures in the community.
He specifically thanked HRM Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, the Oloja of Epe land, Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki (Bamu), the APC leader in Epe Division, and Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun, the Executive Chairman of the Epe Local Government.
He further urged all sons and daughters of Epe to prioritize Allaah in their endeavors for a prosperous future.
“My sincere advice is that we all need to put Allaah first in all we do so that we can all enjoy His goodies in the nearest future,” he emphasized.
The Arowaasi of Epe land, Alhaji Ibrahim Badrudeen Olanrewaju, who also serves as the Imam of Idera Mosque, Epe, called for unity and support for the new Chief Imam.
Describing the decision to install him as a joint effort of both the Islamic and traditional chiefs of Epe land, Alhaji Olanrewaju highlighted the importance of peace for the development and growth of Epe Division.
