Al Nassr had previously initiated talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Boniface, with the German club valuing the Nigerian striker at €50 million. Boniface, 24, joined Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023 for €20 million and recently extended his contract until 2029, making him one of the club’s top earners.
While Boniface had previously ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia when Victor Osimhen was linked to Al Ahli last summer, stating, “No, not now. I’m not thinking of that right now. Your career in Europe is also about cash. When the time for more money comes, I will think about it,” reports suggest that his stance may have shifted.

Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso confirmed that discussions about Boniface’s future are ongoing. “There are discussions with the club; we have to wait. Our preparation for the game remains the same,” Alonso said after Boniface missed training and was excluded from Leverkusen’s UCL match on Wednesday.
