Patients at the Turai Yar’adua Maternity and Children Hospital in Katsina have appealed to the state government to urgently provide a functional X-ray machine at the facility.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that in interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday, patients expressed frustration, revealing that the X-ray machine has been non-operational for five months.

Malam Bala Abubakar, one of the patients, shared his experience: “About five months ago, I brought a patient who needed an X-ray, but we were told the machine was faulty.

We had to take the patient to the general hospital.” He voiced disbelief that a government hospital like Turai could be without a working X-ray machine for such an extended period, urging Governor Dikko Radda to either repair or replace the broken machine.
Hajia Amina Balarabe, another patient, echoed these concerns, appealing for swift action to resolve the issue.
Hospital staff confirmed that the X-ray machine only requires repair, estimating the cost at N3 million.

The Public Relations Officer of Katsina State Hospital Management Service Board, Mr. Mohammed Kabir, acknowledged the issue, assuring that the technician for repairs has been booked.
He expressed hope that the machine would be fixed by the end of February. Kabir also called for donations from individuals, organizations, and NGOs to support the effort.
