The death toll from the recent attack on Amagu, Amaokwe, and Umunesha villages in Nkalaha community, Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has risen to 15, with more people still missing.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that suspected Fulani herdsmen invaded the villages on Sunday, initially killing 10 people and burning houses.

However, recent reports confirm that additional bodies have been recovered from the bushes, while some residents remain unaccounted for.

During a visit to the community, Ebonyi State Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Obila, issued a 24-hour ultimatum to security agencies to apprehend the perpetrators, condemning the gruesome killings as a shocking and tragic loss for the state.
Obila emphasized the need for peace, urging community leaders to remain vigilant while calling for justice. She commended security forces for preventing further casualties but insisted that the attackers must be brought to book.
