EKO HOT BLOG reports that a former Chairman of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area in Lagos State, Apostle Oloruntoba Oke, has passed away at the age of 65.
Oke reportedly died on Sunday, February 9, 2025, due to complications from diabetes. He had been rushed to a Lagos hospital on Friday, February 7, after his health deteriorated, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to the illness two days later.
Oke was a two-term council chairman, first elected in 2011 and re-elected in 2017 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His tenure was marked by grassroots development initiatives, earning him recognition in Lagos politics.
Before venturing into politics, he had a career in media, working with the African Independent Television (AIT), where he built a reputation as a seasoned media practitioner.

His death marks the loss of a prominent figure in Lagos grassroots politics and journalism, with tributes pouring in from political associates and community leaders.
