Hamas has freed four female Israeli soldiers in Gaza under the terms of a ceasefire agreement, transferring them to Red Cross officials at Palestine Square in Gaza City.
In return, Israel is set to release 200 Palestinian prisoners from its jails, marking the second such exchange under the agreement.

Before the handover, a crowd of Palestinians, including masked fighters from Hamas and Islamic Jihad, gathered in the square. Representatives from the Red Cross and a Hamas fighter were seen signing documents ahead of the release.
Hamas identified the freed soldiers as Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Albag. Dressed in Israeli military uniforms, they waved to the assembled crowd during their release.
Al Jazeera’s Ibrahim Al Khaliji described the scene as a “historic moment.” Later, the Israeli army confirmed their safe return, stating the soldiers were undergoing medical evaluations under military supervision.

However, a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office clarified that no Palestinians would be allowed to return to northern Gaza until another captive, Arbel Yehoud, is released.
According to the statement, Yehoud was initially expected to be freed on Saturday.
