Arab leaders will convene in Saudi Arabia on Friday (today) to strategize against U.S. President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal for U.S. control of Gaza and the forced relocation of its population, diplomatic and government sources revealed.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has invited leaders from Gulf Arab nations, Egypt, and Jordan to an informal meeting in Riyadh, Saudi state news agency SPA reported.

The gathering aims to reinforce “brotherly ties” among regional leaders, according to SPA.
While Trump’s proposal has united Arab nations in opposition, divisions persist over governance and funding for Gaza’s reconstruction. Experts consider this meeting among the most significant in decades concerning the Palestinian issue.
Trump sparked international condemnation by suggesting the U.S. take over Gaza and relocate its 2.4 million residents to Egypt and Jordan.

SPA also confirmed that an emergency Arab summit will take place in Egypt on March 4 to address the Israeli-Palestinian crisis. Jordan’s King Abdullah II previously indicated that Egypt would present a counterproposal during a meeting with Trump in Washington on February 11.
A Saudi security official noted that the upcoming talks will include discussions on an alternative plan backed by Egypt.
