The violent incident unfolded while the former defense spokesman and his wife were traveling through Katsina State. According to details shared on a verified military veterans’ communication platform, the couple’s vehicle was ambushed by gunmen within the Matazu Local Government Area.
During the assault, the retired general’s driver managed to escape the scene but sustained a gunshot injury from the attackers.
Following the chaotic ambush, the senior officer’s vehicle, a red Peugeot 406, was recovered by security personnel and has been parked at the Matazu Division of the Nigeria Police Force.
