- Anambra State will arraign detained native doctors once investigations wrap up, under the Homeland Security Law.

The Anambra State government announced that native doctors currently detained will be promptly arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, revealed the decision during a broadcast on the state-owned Anambra Broadcasting Service in Awka over the weekend.

He emphasized that the Professor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration is dedicated to restoring order in the state.

Dr. Mefor stated, “We are fully committed to eradicating criminal activities in Anambra. Should the native doctors be found guilty, they will face sentencing under the new Anambra Homeland Security Law.”
He clarified that while the administration does not oppose traditional worship, it is determined to combat crime and those who facilitate it, including native doctors who allegedly produce charms for criminals.

Those in custody include Chidozie Nwangwu, known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Aki; Onyebuchi Okocha, also called Onyeze Jesus; and another individual from Okija in Ihiala, known as Eke Hit, all of whom remain under investigation.
