A tragic accident occurred on Monday when a speeding driver, yet to be identified, struck two sisters on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, killing a 12-year-old girl and leaving her 15-year-old sibling critically injured.
Eko Hot Blog report the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that it happened around 3:35 p.m. at Ogundare Bus-Stop.

The driver, who was unlawfully using the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane, lost control and hit the two schoolgirls as they were returning home.
“The victims sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Orile Agege General Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, the 12-year-old passed away while receiving medical attention, while her older sister was later transferred to Lagos University Teaching Hospital for further care,” Hundeyin said.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Moshood Jimoh, expressed condolences to the grieving family and assured them of a swift and thorough investigation. He emphasized the importance of road safety and urged motorists to adhere to traffic regulations, speed limits, and safe driving practices.
“A speedy, detailed, and conclusive investigation has since started,” Hundeyin stated. “The CP is confident that justice will be served.”
