Three persons lost their lives on Wednesday evening after an articulated truck loaded with turkeys collided with a motorcycle along the Papalanto axis of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in Ogun State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday.

Akinbiyi said the crash occurred at about 6:30 p.m. near Ilaro and involved an articulated truck and a motorcycle carrying three occupants.

According to him, the motorcyclist, who was conveying two passengers from Ilaro to Papalanto, attempted to overtake a vehicle towing another vehicle after passing the truck loaded with turkeys.
During the manoeuvre, the motorcycle was struck by the truck and crushed against the towing vehicles.
He said the rider and the two passengers sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
TRACE urged motorists and motorcyclists to avoid dangerous overtaking and always adhere to traffic regulations to prevent avoidable road crashes.
