In a recent move to tackle environmental degradation and promote sustainable development, the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development, has launched a massive crackdown on illegal dredging operations across the state’s coastal regions.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the crackdown was led by the Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Hon. Ekundayo Alebiosu, the enforcement operation has resulted in the shutdown of multiple illegal dredging sites, arrests of suspected operators, and issuance of stop-work orders to non-compliant dredgers.
