Junior Achievement (JA) Nigeria has joined forces with Microsoft Philanthropies to introduce the Career Essentials in Generative AI programme, an innovative digital literacy initiative aimed at equipping young Nigerians with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to succeed in the age of artificial intelligence.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement released on Wednesday, the program will commence in February 2024 and provide structured, interactive training to over 5,000 young Nigerians.

The Career Essentials in Generative AI programme seeks to empower Nigerian youth with critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation skills to prepare them for the rapidly evolving AI-driven workforce and digital economy.
The statement read, “Career Essentials in Generative AI programme is open to post-secondary learners, including undergraduates, postgraduates, and National Youth Service Corps members.
“Participants will receive a personalised invite link to access the training, allowing them to engage in self-paced learning with structured guidance.”
Speaking on the initiative, Executive Director of Junior Achievement Nigeria, Ugonna Achebe, said, “Technology is reshaping the way we work, and AI is at the forefront of this transformation.
“By equipping young Nigerians with generative AI skills, we are not just preparing them for the future workforce; we are empowering them to be innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders in the digital age.
