An armed robbery occurred early this morning on the Epe-Ibeju Lekki Expressway, just before Alaro City, targeting a Sienna bus filled with passengers.
Ekohotblog reports that the incident happened around 4:00 am when three armed men carried out the attack.

One of the robbers flagged down the bus, pretending to be a passenger traveling to Ajah. He asked the driver for help to load his luggage, claiming he was traveling.
As the driver stepped out to assist, two other men suddenly emerged from the bushes with guns, threatening the passengers.
They forcefully collected phones, money, and other valuables before fleeing into the bush.
One of the victims recounted the terrifying experience, saying, “The man looked so genuine when he said he was traveling to Ajah.

But the moment the driver tried to help him with his load, the others appeared with guns. They took everything valuable from us. It was terrifying.”
Another passenger added, “It was like a setup. They planned everything perfectly. We were all rushing to work and didn’t even have time to report to the police.”

Following the incident, the victims urged local authorities to increase security along the Epe-Ibeju Lekki Expressway, especially in the early hours of the morning. They also warned other travelers to be extremely cautious on that road to avoid falling victim to similar attacks.
“This could happen to anyone. People should be very careful, especially when traveling early in the morning. Don’t stop for strangers, no matter how convincing they seem,” another victim advised.
