Ekaette Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in an Abuja High Court, Eko Hot Blog reports.
The legal action stems from remarks made by Akpoti-Uduaghan during an interview on Arise TV, in which she accused the Senate President of making sexual advances towards her.

Ekaette has refuted these allegations, asserting that her husband is a disciplined individual and characterizing Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims as “lies.”
In response, Ekaette is now pursuing a fundamental rights suit, challenging what she describes as “scandalous and salacious” comments.
Ekaette Akpabio is seeking N250 billion in damages, asserting that the accusations have caused significant emotional distress for her and her family.

Ekaette is also requesting a restraining order to prevent further “spiteful” statements that could infringe upon her fundamental human rights.
The lawsuit argues that the defamatory statements have tarnished the reputation of Ekaette and her family, causing harm to their public image.
In addition to the monetary compensation, Ekaette is demanding a public apology from Akpoti-Uduaghan, to be published in two national newspapers.
